Does your child struggle with making and keeping friends?

Does your child present with emotional outbursts?

Occupational Therapists have the knowledge and skillset to address individuals struggles with self-regulation, sensory processing and social communication.

Self-Regulation is a skill that influences a child’s ability to manage emotions, behavior, and attention. It involves managing, sustaining, and adjusting one’s arousal levels, emotions, and behaviors. Poor emotional regulation can lead to social issues, outbursts, problems at home and school, and negative behavioral patterns.

Self-regulation strategies refer to techniques and behaviors individuals use to manage their own emotions, thoughts, and behaviors in order to achieve specific goals or respond adaptively to different situations.

Through our Self-Regulation and Social Skills group, run by our Occupational Therapist, children can learn effective strategies in order to successfully connect with peers and improve their overall quality of life at home, at school and while out in the community.
